Playzone

Dear Moms:

The Playzone Staff at the Club would like you to know how much we enjoy having your children use the childminding centre. We strive to make the Playzone a place where your children are safe, feel comfortable, and are happy. So that we may work together in this endeavor, we want to remind you of our Playzone Policies and Procedures. Please give us some extra time on your first visit to complete your child’s registration form.

  1. AGE LIMITS - The Playzone will accept children at approximately 10 weeks to  5 years old. Children ages 6 or older may not be in the Playzone.
     
  2. PLAYZONE HOURS OF OPERATION
     
    Monday through Friday
    8:30 AM - 1:30 PM
     
    Saturdays
    9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
     
    Please be aware of the peak periods that coincide with the group exercise classes. If you would prefer a quieter time for your child, please contact the Playzone supervisor for further information.
     
  3. FOOD IN THE PLAYZONE - We ask that you do not bring food or sippy cups into the Playzone. Please feed your child before coming to ensure a more positive experience. This eliminates any possible food allergies, chocking hazards or the spread of viral infections between children. We provide fresh water in a Dixie cup for hydration. If your child is bottle fed, we will feed them and ensure a safe place where they must sit to drink their bottles.
     
  4. TOYS FROM HOME - When your child brings his/or her favorite toy from home, it can cause lots of challenges. Please leave all personal items and toys at home as we cannot be responsible for them. Also, make sure your child does not have any coins or small objects in their pockets prior to entering the Playzone.
     
  5. TIME LIMITS/FEES - The time limit for the Playzone is 1 hour 30 minutes while you workout (inside the club) for children on your membership. A fee of $5.00 additional will be charged for any children left over 1.5 hours. PLEASE DO NOT BRING IN CHILDREN YOU ARE BABYSITTING. Only Women’s Fitness is able to offer 3 methods of payment for the Playzone:
     
    1. Unlimited monthly childminding for $15.00 per month for 2 children. Each additional child is $5.00. This will be added to your monthly membership. A minimum of 12 months to guarantee rate. ( early cancellation fee will apply )
       
    2. One month at a time for $30.00 per month for 2 children, and each additional child is $5.00.
       
    3. Drop-in hourly rates are also available. Please see the Playzone supervisor for rate information.
       
  6.  BABIES AND CHILDREN IN DIAPERS - Please label your diaper bag and all your child’s belongings. Please make sure that your child has a dry-clean disposable diaper on before you leave for your workout. It is the responsibility of the parent to provide additional disposable diapers and wipes. If you have not left a disposable diaper and wipes for your child, we will come find you. If your child is 3 years old or older, we will call you to come change a soiled diaper.
     
  7. BITTING AND AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOR - If your child bites or causes injury to another child, they will need to leave the Playzone immediately. If they do it a second time, we will suspend the service until a recommendation from the supervisor and the clubs ownership have reviewed the incident. It will be up to the Playzone supervisor to reinstate childminding services on an individual basis. We consider this behavior very serious and want to ensure everyone’s safety.
     
  8. RETURNING CHILDREN TO PARENT - If your child cries more than 10 minutes or if they appear to be ill, we will come to get you. PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR CHILD IF HE/SHE HAS A VISIBLE RASH OR ANYTHING QUESTIONABLE. IF YOUR CHILD IS TOO SICK TO GO TO A DAYCARE, THEY ARE TOO SICK TO COME TO THE CHILDMINDING. Children that misbehave beyond control will also be returned to the parent. (Please note, we will try time-out first).
     
  9. SANITATION OF THE PLAYZONE - Toy cleanliness is of utmost importance to us! We do our best to ensure all toys are washed DAILY. Once per week, all toys are sanitized in HOT water, rinsed in HOT water and dried. We may also use a hot steam machine to disinfect all surfaces.
     
  10. WORKOUT AREAS AND LOCKER ROOMS - To ensure club liability, safety of the children and the privacy of the members. Please do not bring your children into designated workout areas or the locker room. Absolutely no unsupervised children in the Playzone before and after the hours of operation.
     
  11. AUTHORIZED VISITORS OR ALTERNATE PARENT PICK UP - Absolutely no unauthorized visitors in the childminding. Please let the supervisor know in advanced that there will be alternate plans for pick up, by the father or grand parents. This is to ensure the safety and protection of the children. Valid picture ID must be presented.
     
  12. NEW CHILDREN TO THE PLAYZONE - We will place a name label on all new children to identify them quickly and to ensure that all staff are learning your child’s name.
