How can I reduce my stress levels?

We all experience stress, so we need to look at becoming great stress managers. Ask yourself a few questions to help you discover the right path for you to reduce your stress.

First, identify stressors in your life. Recognize that we are all individuals so what will increase one persons stress level may not increase another. When we can identify the stressors we can then change how we cope with them.

Next, identify the cues your body will give during an increase in your stress. This way you are recognizing the signs within your body when they first occur and then you can incorporate an outlet based on your needs. These signs can range from headaches, clenching the jaw, shrugging the shoulders, fatigue, muscle pain just to name a few.

Once you are more aware of your stress and how you have been handling, look at a few of these tips to help manage the stress.

Nutrition – Examine your diet and try to eat balanced smaller meals more often in the day.

Rest/ Sleeping – Look at your sleep patterns and ensure your body is getting enough quality rest.

Physical Activity – Including regular activity. Remember, with activity it is important to include activity which reduces your stress levels. Maybe that hard workout is not the best choice, try a pilates or yoga class instead.

Hobbies – Time to try a new hobby or get back to one you use to enjoy.
Meditation/Breathing techniques

Take a personal day - Go to the spa for a Massage, Pedicure, Facial or how about all 3...indulge!

Ask for Help – Don’t be afraid to ask for tips from your health practitioner
